Nowadays, laser technology has entered people's lives from all aspects.
There are many kinds of lasers for different applications, each with different wavelengths and characteristics.
Here we summarizes some types of lasers, hope can help you get a better understanding of laser features and applications.
There are many subdivisions of solid-state lasers and gas lasers. Except for free electron lasers, the basic working principles of various lasers are the same, including Pump source, Optical resonator and Gain medium.
Solid-state lasers
Solid-state lasers use a crystalline or glass rod which is "doped" with ions that provide the required energy states. For example, the first working laser was a ruby laser, made from ruby (chromium-doped corundum). The population inversion is actually maintained in the dopant. These materials are pumped optically using a shorter wavelength than the lasing wavelength, often from a flashtube or from another laser.
Below is a list for different crystalline lasers:

Gas laser
A gas laser is a laser in which an electric current is discharged through a gas to produce coherent light.
